Vintage item is in GOOD condition. It has some shelf wear expected for a vintage paperback. The pages inside are in good condition with no highlighting, marks, or writing; no dog-earing. There are some bent and dented pages on the bottom left inside pages 1-35, the result of a small tear and bump from the outside spine, but the dent does not go to the text. There is no dust cover. The patterned paper cover is in good to ACCEPTABLE condition with some tears, and one age spot on the front; there is one visible tear just mentioned on the front lower spine; There is minimal fraying along the edges, but there is a bit more wear on the bottom edges and foot of the spine from shelf rubbing. All corners front and back are bumped and frayed, and there are bent corners back and front; these are not obtrusive. There is a visible crease along the spine, but the spine binding is tight, no loose pages, and the spine is NOT broken (please see pictures as they are part of the description). Overall in GOOD to acceptable good condition. Please be aware this vintage book has wear and flaws, but not bad. This is the classic 1956 history of the American frontier, by Billington, reprinted in 1962 by Harper Torchbooks for the New American Nation Series. If you enjoy American history and collecting vintage, this is for you.
